Pulse Shape Analysis with 16 fold Segmented Super Clover Ge-detector — •Nami Saito, J. Gerl, I. Kojouharov, T. Saito, and H. Schaffner — GSI Darmstadt
An algorithm was developed to obtain positions of γ-ray interactions in a Ge-detector by analyzing detector pulse shapes. A 16-fold Segmented Super Clover detector which consists of four four-fold segmented germanium crystals was used. Preamplifier signals from each segment, induced by a collimated 152Eu γ-ray source, were digitized in a 8-bit 250 MHz flash ADC, and 144 million signals were obtained. The γ-ray source and a collimator with a diameter of 2 mm were moved by a 4 mm step to scan the detector surface, and data was taken for 744 source positions. From the analysis of pulse shapes a position resolution higher than that given by a volume of segment has been achieved, and γ-ray energy dependence for the position resolution was investigated.
