Emission of Unbound 8Be- and 12C-Clusters in Compound Reactions — •Tz. Kokalova1,2 and S. Torilov1,2 — 1Hahn-Meitner-Institut Berlin, Glienicker Strasse 100, D-14109 Berlin, Germany — 2Freie Universität Berlin, Fachbereich Physik, Arnimallee 14, D-14195 Berlin, Germany
We have studied the emission of light unbound clusters, 8Be and 12C0+*, in the reactions 18O+13C→23Ne+8Be and 28Si+24Mg→52Fe→ 40Ca+12C0+*. In the residual nuclei (Ne and Ca) we have observed positive and negative parity bands, the population of these bands with 8Be and 12C0+* emission is studied relative to the statistical emission of two or three α-particles. The angular momentum-energy balance of the cluster emission is compared with that of multiple α-emission. The properties of the energy spectra of α-particles and clusters and the population of deformed shapes by cluster emission are discussed.
