The depolarization of polarized ultra-cold neutrons (UCN) is a critical parameter for various experiments (e. g. a measurement of the asymmetry parameters in neutron β-decay or the neutron electric dipole moment). We have measured for the first time the depolarization and transmission of UCN through quartz tubes coated with diamond like carbon.
The experiment will be discussed and first results will be presented.
