Measurement of strange resonances with FOPI^* — •Markus Merschmeyer — Physikalisches Institut der Universität Heidelberg

Indications for in-medium effects have been found in the kaon flow and the phase space dependence of the charged kaon yield ratio. Due to the strong correlation of the φ meson and K⁺K⁻ it is very important to also clarify the role of hidden strangeness in kaon production. Additional contributions to the understanding of strangeness production could come from the measurement of multi-strange particles. Recent results on φ production in heavy-ion collisions at 2 AGeV are presented and compared with theoretical calculations. Furthermore the physics implications of multi-strange particle production at those energies are discussed.
