Nuclear stopping in 4496Ru(4096Zr) + 4496Ru(4096Zr) at 0.4 AGeV and 1.5 AGeV — •Young Jin Kim — Gesellschaft für Schwerionenforschung D-64291 Darmstadt, Germany
We use the isospin tracer method [1] [2] to obtain information on the
degree of
equilibrium and stopping in nucleus-nucleus collisions.
Specifically we collide nuclei of the same mass but different neutron to
proton ratio.
For central collisions in the reaction 4496Ru + 4096Zr
and 4096Zr + 4496Ru, we find that the ratios of the
proton rapidity distributions point to incomplete mixing and partial
transparency of the projectile and target nuclei.
The effect is shown to increase when going from 0.4 AGeV to 1.5 AGeV.
We also present the centrality dependence of proton and deuteron
rapidity distributions in 4496Ru + 4496Ru at 0.4 AGeV.
The data are compared to IQMD model calculations under various assumptions
on the NN collision cross section in medium.
