Explosive stellar nucleosynthesis is closely linked to the evolution of nuclear properties far from β-stability. Knowledge of T1/2, Pn and Q-values of such nuclei is vital to the predictive power of nuclear structure models used in this context. In particular, nuclear structure around magic neutron shell numbers, i.e. N=50, 82 and 126 is an indespensible ingredient in r-process calculations. To this end, we have studied experimentally Ag, Cd, In and Sn-Isotopes using the combined selectivities of neutron converter production target, RILIS and HRS at the ISOLDE-facility at CERN.

A series of surprising deviations from most recent nuclear structure predictions has been discovered including the unprecedentedly high energy of the first 1+-State in 130In, the behaviour of the rather high Qβ- and B(E2)-values in neutron-rich Cd-Isotopes and the low lying SP p- and d-states in 133Sn and 135Sb. The method, the data reduction, the experimental findings and their comparison with nuclear and astrophysical model predictions will be presented.
