Turbulent Cascading: Diffusion in Wave Number Space — •Ralf Kissmann, Felix Spanier, Horst Fichtner, and Reinhard Schlickeiser — Institut für Theoretische Physik IV, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, 44780 Bochum
Various observations for the heliosphere and the interstellar medium indirectly suggest an anisotropy of the plasma turbulence. Examples are the transport of pick-up ions in the solar wind or the heating of the interstellar medium. As physical causes for such anisotropy pitch-angle dependent wave-wave interactions and damping rates of plasma modes have been considered. We study the capability of a diffusive description of wave-wave interactions in order to compute the evolution of wave power spectra in different scenarios.
