A new tool for Alfven-Eigenmode analysis — •Stefan Zegenhagen, Andreas Werner, Thomas Klinger, and Arthur Weller — Max-Planck-Institut für Plasmaphysik, Wendelsteinstraße 1, 17489 Greifswald
Mirnov diagnostic has proven to be a useful technique to detect Alfven-Eigenmodes in magnetically confined plasmas. The simple experimental setup and easy operation has made it a widely used tool in fusion research. But the interpretation of the data is usually quite complicated due to relatively high noise levels, non-evenly spaced probes, and the common coexistence of more than one mode. Here, a new analysis tool is presented that is based upon the well known lomb periodogram. It allows to perform a time, frequency and mode number resolved analysis of Mirnov data while including the data of all Mirnov probes, which may be unevenly spaced and sampled. First results for W7-AS data are presented.
