Spectra of B II after injection of B(CH3)3 through a block of the upper poloidal limiter of TEXTOR into the boundary plasma close to the LCFS were obtained. The observation system provides a spatial resolution along the minor radius. The radial intensity profiles of the various B II and B I lines were measured during the series of reproducible discharges with different conditions of ne, Te, NBI, etc. The injection emission was simultaneously registered with a 2D camera in the light of a carbon line and by additional wide range spectrometers (200-1000 nm). This work is a continuation of the similar investigations carried out for other impurities (O, Si) previously. It was shown that the lines of the singly ionized species are most convenient for the flux diagnostic.
An appropriate collisional-radiative model (atomic database and the corresponding level list) was developed and calculations using the GKU kinetic code were carried out. The ratios of singlet and triplet line intensities were investigated both by the modelling and the experiment.
A comparison of theoretical and experimental data is presented. The recomendations about the lines useful for the diagnostic of the B influx and the corresponding S/XB values are provided.
