The cross section and the astrophysical ground state reaction rates of the reactions 191Ir(γ,n)190Ir and 193Ir(γ,n)192Ir have been measured close above the neutron separation energies at Ethr = 8.07 MeV and Ethr = 7.77 MeV, respectively, using the method of photoactivation. The results are important for a better understanding of the s- and p-process [1,2,3,4] in this region of the chart of nuclides. They will be compared to theoretical calculations as well as to other experimental data. * supported by the DFG (SFB 634 and Zi 510/2-2) and by the Swiss NSF (grants 2124-055832.98, 2000-061822.00, 2024-067428).
