At low spin, the deformation of nuclei in the A ≈ 80 mass region is strongly changing for neighboring nuclei as consequence of the low Nilsson level density. Due to the proximity of N=Z, p-n pairing may also play an important role. The motivation for the analysis of the nuclei 73Kr, 74Kr, 75Kr and 76Kr was to study the influences of the Nilsson structure and the p-n pairing on high spin states. To investigate the nuclei, the data of an experiment applying the EUROBALL spectrometer, including the silicon detector array ISIS for charged particle identification and the BC501A scintillator array NWALL for neutron detection, have been analyzed. The reaction was 40Ca + 40Ca at 185MeV beam energy. From the analysis of multi-dimensional Eγ histograms, levels up to an excitation energy of ≈ 30MeV and estimated spins of 35ℏ could be established. The results are discussed with respect to the systematics of this mass region and compared to calculations in the cranked shell model.
