Coulomb excitation of neutron-rich 74,76Zn nuclei between the N=40 and N=50 shell closures using the REX-ISOLDE and the MINIBALL detectors array. — •Oleg Ivanov — Instituut voor Kern-en Stralingsfysica, KU Leuven, Belgium
We present the preliminary results on a Coulomb excitation experiment with neutron-rich 74,76Zn nuclei in the vicinity of N=40 and N=50 shell closures. After laser ionization, the 74Zn (T1/2 = 95.6 s) and 76Zn (T1/2 = 5.7 s) radioactive beams were post-accelerated with the REX-ISOLDE (CERN) facility to 2.2 MeV/u and sent onto a 120Sn target (1.7 mg/cm2), which was placed in the center of the MINIBALL array. The scattered particles were detected in the double-sided silicon strip detector inside the target chamber. Coulomb excitation to the first excited 2+ states in 74Zn (606 keV) and 76Zn (599 keV) was observed.
