A fast and compact electromagnetic calorimeter for the PANDA detctor — •Helena Nowak, Andrea Wilms, Bernd Lewandowski, and Klaus Peters — Ruhr Universitaet Bochum
The status of the developement of the Electro-Magnetic Calorimeter (EMC) for the PANDA-experiment (antiProton ANnihilation at DArmstadt) will be presented.
Various crystal scintillator materials with different readout-detectors are being investigated. The first results of test measurements to evaluate the energy resolution and temperature dependence of the crystals and the photo-detector properties will be presented. Also the results of first irradiation-tests with protons will be shown.
