Isospin breaking and nucleon structure — •Tobias Gail and Thomas R. Hemmert — Physik Department Technische Universität München
We study the three vector and three axial vector weak form factors of
the nucleon including
isospin breaking effects in the pion and nucleon sector, using both the
heavy
baryon and the relativistic
approach of SU(2) chiral perturbation theory to
O(p3). Two of these form factors have not been
considered previously in these frameworks, since they parametrize second
class
currents, currents of unnatural G-parity.
We discuss the implications of isospin breaking on low energy neutrino
nucleon
scattering and ordinary muon capture.
Consequences of isospin violation for the unitarity of the CKM matrix
are also discussed.
