It has been shown that the ratio of longitudinal-to-transverse nuclear responses constitutes a measure of departure of nuclear orbitals from shell-model predictions [1]. More specifically, the interaction between the valence- and core-clusters [2] inevitably cause configuration mixing which shift the peaks of the longitudinal and transverse responses to higher energy transfers in a different manner. Hence, measuring the ratios of the nuclear responses at medium energy transfers and comparing them with the values given by pure shell-model calculations can give a measure of the core-excitation effects. The DCM [2] indicates that nuclear correlations and core excitations are the dynamical origin of nuclear halo formation in 6He and 6Li. We would like therefore to investigate the use of (e,e’p) to study the dynamics of nuclear halo formation by presenting the longitudinal and transverse responses in (e,e’p) reactions, as predicted by the DCM.
