The Four-Body System in EFT — •Lucas Platter — Forschungszentrum Jülich — HISKP Bonn

The effective field theory with contact interactions provides a model-independent framework to compute low-energy observables to very high precision. The errors in the calculation are intrinsically linked to the expansion parameters of the theory and can be estimated in a straightforward way.

Recently, the theory has been applied successfully to the three-body system with large two-body scattering length, where a three-body force at leading order is needed to renormalize the problem. We will discuss the extension of this work to the four-body system within an effective potential approach, give predictions for the binding energies of different four-body systems, and discuss the renormalization of the four-body problem within this framework.
