String theory suggests modifications of our spacetime such as extra dimensions and the existence of a mininal length scale. In models with addidional dimensions, the Planck-scale can be lowered to values accessible by the LHC in soon future which in turn solves the hierarchy problem an lowers the unification scale. These models yield an useful effective description of physics beyond the standard model. We calculate predictions within this scenario such as production of gravitons, production of black holes and a finite resolution of spacetime which is expected near the Planck-scale.
