We have investigated hard exclusive reactions on the nucleon with soft-pion contamination. It turns out that after factorization, the corresponding amplitudes contain transition matrix elements of lightcone operators with initial nucleon and final nucleon-pion state. A parametrization of these objects is provided. In order to calculate them, we formulate a generalization of soft-pion theorems for the case of lightcone operators. Applying these results, we can express the transition matrix elements in terms of usual generalized parton distributions. Finally, we present our results on hard charged pion production on the proton with soft pion emission that were obtained by this method.
