Cross sections for ν-induced reactions on argon — •Edwin Kolbe — Departement für Physik und Astronomie der Universität Basel, Basel, Switzerland
We have calculated cross sections and branching ratios for neutrino induced reactions on 40Ar for various supernova and accelerator-relevant neutrino spectra within a hybrid model. This was motivated by the fact that argon is used as target material in neutrino detectors, like, e.g., ICARUS. In particular we study the neutral and charged current (CC) cross sections on argon and calculate the neutron energy spectra following the decay of the daughter nuclei. We also determined the angular dependence of the CC cross sections for various energies of the incoming (anti)neutrino.
