The Decay of the Σ0–Hyperon in a Covariant Faddeev Approach — •Markus Kloker, Reinhard Alkofer, and Hugo Reinhardt — Institute of Theoretical Physics, Tübingen University
The relativistic three–quark problem is treated by modeling dressed quark propagators and two–quark scalar and axialvector correlations [1,2]. The resulting reduced Poincaré invariant Faddeev equations are solved for octet and decuplet baryons. The radiative decay of the Σ0 → Λ γ is calculated. The off-shell behaviour of the corresponding amplitude is investigated and combined with a description of associated strangeness production in this Faddeev approach [3]. Off-shell radiative transitions are considered as isospin violating final state interactions in the near-threshold Λ and Σ production studied experimentally at COSY. [1] M. Oettel and R.
