Non-equilibrium dynamics in quantum field theory — •Carsten Greiner — Institut für Theoretische Physik, Johann Wolfgang Goethe Universität Frankfurt, Robert-Mayer-Str. 8-10, 60054 Frankfurt
The description of many body systems or quantum fields out of equilibrium represents a challenging and modern question for the microscopic understanding of the dynamics of heavy ion collisions. The topic and the developed techniques are also of importance for cosmology, atomic physics and solid state physics, especially for understanding the onset and dynamical evolution of phase transitions out of equilibrium. In this talk we will give an overview of various applications with respect to heavy ion physics.
