The ATLAS Level-1 Calorimeter Trigger - Concept and Status — •Pavel Meshkov — Kirchhoff-Institute for Physics, University of Heidelberg
The design of the ATLAS Level-1 Calorimeter Trigger is described as well as the trigger performance and current status. Level-1 Calorimeter Trigger is the part of the Level-1 Trigger System whose calculations are based on information from ATLAS calorimeters. Trigger objects are e.m. showers, single hadrons, jets, and etc. The Calorimeter Trigger is divided into two trigger processors - Cluster Processor(CP) and Jet/Energy-sum Processor, fed jointly by the Preprocessor over high-speed serial links. The processed Calorimeter data is sent to the Central Trigger Processor (CTP) for the final yes/no decision for each event.
