Simulation of piezoelectric sensors for acoustic detection: In addition to
optical detection we plan to equip two ANTARES strings with hydrophones for
acoustic particle detection.
Hydrophones contain piezo electric sensors to detect acoustic signals.
Simulations were performed using FE (finite element) methods to describe
the behaviour of these piezo electric sensors.
Results are presented and its implications on acoustic detection are
discussed.
