KM3NeT: Simulations for an Undersea Kilometer-Scale Neutrino Telescope — •Rezo Shanidze, Gisela Anton, Alexander Kappes, Uli Katz, and Sebatsian Kuch — Physikalisches Institut, Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Erwin-Rommel-Str. 1, 91058 Erlangen
Monte Carlo simulations are presented for the proposed
cubic kilometer-scale deep underwater neutrino telescope
in the Mediterranean sea, the KM3NeT project.
The current experimental and theoretical research
indicates that a telescope of this scale is necessary
to detect a variety of sources of high-energy neutrinos:
the generic point sources, diffuse source and the sources
associated with particular types of dark matter.

and Research, BMBF, grant no. 05CN2WE1/2.
