Status report of the new generation 17m diameter MAGIC Telescope — •Thomas Schweizer — Institut of Physics, Humboldt-University, Newtonstr. 15, 12489 Berlin

Since last October 2003 the new generation MAGIC telescope has been commisioned. Here I will report about the performance with emphasis on the new technology components used in MAGIC. Some preliminary results of first Crab observations will be given.
