Photodetachment in a strong circularly polarized laser field and ATI beyond the dipole approximation — •Michael Klaiber, Igor Kiyan, Svea Beiser, and Christoph H. Keitel — Fakultät für Mathematik und Physik , Albert-Ludwigs-Universität, D-79104 Freiburg, Germany
We investigate the process of a negative ion in a strong circularly polarized field. Our approach employs the saddle point analysis of contributions to the multiphoton transition amplitude. The method is based on the strong field approximation. Furthermore we calculate the photoelectron spectrum for different p-initial states of F−. We compare our results with an earlier work of Reiss[1], which used the velocity gauge. Finally we investigate the influence of different approximations of the intial state wavefunction of the negative ion on the transition amplitude.
Our second research topic is ATI in strong laser fields. We are interested in magnetic field effects on the photoelectron energy spectrum. In this analytical approach the single active electron approximation is applied. Again we use the saddle point method to calculate the dynamics of the electron wavepacket. Main emphasis is placed on the role of the magnetic component of the laser field and the recollision of the electron, which is considered by the generalized strong field approximation.
