Probing molecular geometry and dynamics with photons — •B. Zimmermann, M. Lein, and J.-M. Rost — Max-Planck-Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems, Nöthnitzer Str. 38, 01187 Dresden
Interference effects in high harmonic generation from molecules may provide a new venue to measure microscopic distances such as internuclear separation and molecular orientation [1]. A clear trace of these properties in the interference pattern would tremendously simplify the observation of dynamic processes in molecules, such as dissociation. We will present new results on this topic beyond the simple model molecules investigated so far. [1] M. Lein et. al, Phys. Rev. A 66, 023805 (2002)
