Fractional Quantum Hall Effect States in 2D ultra-cold dipolar Fermi-gases — •Klaus Osterloh — co ITP Hannover Appelstr. 2 30167 Hannover
We propose the existence of ’Fractional Quantum Hall Effect’-like states in ultra-cold two-dimensional and rapidly rotating Fermi-gases with dipole-dipole interactions. The energy gap of such a system with respect to quasi-particle excitations is derived. The result motivates the possibility to create as well as detect the existence of this correlated state by future experiments.
