Develop of a new X-ray source — •Flavio Zamponi1, Ingo Uschmann1, Eckart Förster1, Roland Sauerbrey1, Nicolai Zhavoronkov2, and Yuri Gritsai2 — 1Institut für Optik und Quantenelektronik — 2Max-Born-Institut
First data concerning the characterization of a new high repetition (pulses with 5 mJ energy, 45 fs duration, 1kHz), high brilliance X-ray source developed in collaboration with Max Born Institute of Berlin will be illustrated.
Ti-Kα and Cu-Kα have been produced by focusing a femtosecond laser pulse on a tape target; Ga-Kα by using a gallium jet. Copper, titanium and gallium spectra were acquired by means of a cooled Si-diode "AMP-TEKNo-dq detector.
Estimation of X-ray photon flux and conversion of laser energy in X-ray energy is given. Average X-ray flux of the table top systems located at MBI Berlin and FSU Jena are compared to Terawatt system.
