Femtosecond Fluorescence Analysis with Confocal Two-Photon Excitation — •Stefan Bleil, Dirk Otteken, and Karlheinz Maier — Institut für Physik, C.v.O.- Universität Oldenburg, D-26111 Oldenburg
Two-photon excited fluorescence has become an important tool in the three-dimensional imaging of samples. Here we present a confocal set-up for fluorescence lifetime measurements using up-conversion technique in the femtosecond time range. The promising abilities of the method are shown by investigations of the ultrafast S2 relaxation dynamics of solutions of the dye malachite green (about 250 fs).
