Isotope selection is an issue of high interest in many fields of science. We report the control of the isotope ratio ionization R = 39,39K2+/39,41K2+ by means of shaped laser pulses. This is achieved by combining pulse shaping techniques with evolutionary algorithms. The isotope ratio could be maximized up to R = 72 or minimized to R = 0.5. Information about the dynamics occurring on the optimal ionization path is gained from the optimal laser fields. The applied optimization method and the results obtained for phase and/or amplitude modulated pulses at different wavelengths will be discussed. The experiment demonstrates the general feasibility of the optimization method for all isotopic molecules.
