Core-Level Photoionization to study Atomic and Molecular Dynamics — •Allen. L. Landers — Auburn University, Auburn, USA

The interaction between a single photon and an atom or molecule can trigger a number of interesting phenomena associated with photoionization or photoexcitation of the target species. I will present a brief overview of the recent work done by the ongoing COLTRIMS collaboration at the Advanced Light Source at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory. A brief discussion of the imaging techniques employed in our measurements will be followed by highlights of a few current results. Examples will include dissociative two-electron transitions in hydrogen molecules, isomerization of the acetylene/vinyladene dications, and post-collision/recapture in the near-threshold core-photoionization of neon.
