Latitudinal cross section of tropospheric and stratospheric NO2 measured by ship borne multi axis DOAS — •Magdalini-Anastasiia Halasia1, Roman Sinreich1, Jens Bossmeyer2, Andreas Heck1, Udo Friess3, Thomas Wagner1, and Ulrich Platt11IUP Heidelberg — 2FZ Juelich — 3

We present first results of ship borne multi axis (MAX-) DOAS measurements of NO2, performed on board of the Polarstern research vessel on a cruise from Bremerhaven to Antarctica between October 2002 and February 2003. The MAX-DOAS technique allows to separate tropospheric from stratospheric trace gas column giving the ability to determine the abundance of NO2 in the mid-latitudinal, tropical and polar marine troposphere. Furthermore we compare our measurements with observations performed on a similar cruise in 2001/2002.
