First results of an indoor DOAS tomography validation campaign using Multibeam Long Path Systems — •Kai-Uwe Mettendorf, Andreas Hartl, Christian Kunz, Ulrich Platt, and Irene Pundt — Institut für Umweltphysik; Universität Heidelberg

For tomographic DOAS (Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy) measurements simultaneous measurements along different light paths are needed to discern spatial concentration fields from their temporal variations. Here we present a new Longpath DOAS system called Multibeam DOAS (MB-DOAS), which allows the simultaneous measurement along up to six different light paths. In addition, results from an indoor-DOAS-tomography validation campaign using three of these instruments are shown.

The MB-DOAS consists of a Newton telescope for the transmission and collection of the light beams. The received light of the beams is coupled into different fibers which direct the light to a spectrograph connected with a CCD detector. In order to change the angle between the different light beams mirrors are mounted in front of the telescope. To test the suitability of this instrument for tomographic DOAS measurements a validation campaign was performed in August 2003
