Reflectionless dynamics of 1D charge and spin modes in atomic traps — •Lars Kecke, Wolfgang Häusler, and Hermann Grabert — Physikalisches Institut, Albert- Ludwigs Univerität, Freiburg
Gases of Fermionic atoms in cigar shaped, one-dimensional traps provide an ideal means to study the dynamics of correlated Fermi systems in the Tonks gas limit of repulsive contact interactions. The interaction strength can be tuned experimentally [1].
Based on the Tomonaga-Luttinger (TL) model we present calculations on the dynamics of charge and spin density waves. Particularly at the edge both modes show features that are strikingly different from the non-interacting case as well as from conventional TL dynamics. For example we find a suppression of reflections that should be experimentally observable.
