Search for deviations from Newtonian gravity at submillimeter distances — •Luca Haiberger, Michael Weingran, Helmut Wenz und Stephan Schiller — Institut fuer Experimentalphysik, Heinrich-Heine-Universitaet Duesseldorf, Universitaetsstr. 1, 40225 Duesseldorf

Present experimental limits allow the existence of forces stronger than gravity at length scale of the order of 100 µm. In our experiment, designed to be able to detect gravity at submillimeter distances, the test mass consists of a silicon torsional oscillator. This kind of force sensor is characterized by an high quality factor (up to 8·105 at room temperature). We present our latest results and interpret them in order to set limits to the existence of gravity-like forces.
