Loop Quantum Cosmology — •Martin Bojowald — Max-Planck-Institut für Gravitationsphysik, Albert-Einstein-Institut, Am Mühlenberg 1, D-14476 Golm
The canonical quantization of general relativity has had notable successes in the form of loop quantum gravity. We review general features and focus on recent cosmological applications reaching from the absence of singularities to new phenomenological models of the early universe that can be tested using the anisotropy spectrum of the cosmic microwave background.
