Electron photodetachment dynamics of the negative fluorine ion in intense laser fields — •Zunaira Ansari, Igor Kiyan, Boris Bergues und Hanspeter Helm — Physikalisches Institute, Albert-Ludwigs Universitaet D-79104 Freiburg, Germany

We have previously reported the observation of the quantum interference effect manifest in energy and angular momentum resolved spectra recorded for photodetached electrons emitted from negative ions in an intense laser field. One of the aims before us is to study the quantum interference effect systematically. We report on the experimental study (angular momentum resolved spectra) of photodetachment of electrons from the negative fluorine ion subjected to strong laser fields using the velocity map imaging technique. The photodetachment was studied for a fixed (i) wavelength (1387 nm) varying the strength of the laser field (from 1013-1014 W/cm2), (ii) laser field strength (1014 W/cm2) varying the wavelength (1200 nm-1600nm). We compare our results to a Keldysh-like theory proposed by Gribakin and Kuchiev. This theory does not take into account the re-scattering mechanism, but is able to reproduce the hot electron plateau in the spectrum qualitatively.
