Quantum interferences occur when direct and resonant pathways are possible for atomic processes, as it is the case for photoionization. The expected interference results in asymmetric resonance line profiles. The asymmetry of the resonances are characterized with the so-called Fano-factor. We present new experimental observations of such an effect between the time-reversed processes, namely radiative recombination (RR) and dielectronic recombination (DR), in few-electron mercury ions (Hg+75...+78). The present experiment has been carried out in the Heidelberg-EBIT. Our energy resolution and data-analyzing techniques allow us to isolate DR resonances in single charge states. The observed Fano-factors have been determined with accuracies as low as 4% and, in most cases, are in a good agreement with the predictions of relativistic Multi-Configuration Dirac-Fock calculations.
