Towards a microscopic understanding of aging and fatigue in functional ceramics — •Rüdiger-A. Eichel — Eduard-Zintl- Inst., TU Darmstadt
Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) provides a sensitive tool for investigating structure and dynamics of point and extended defects in oxide ceramics, which are thought playing a major role in aging and fatigue mechanisms. In particular, high-frequency EPR is used in order to elucidate the anisotropic nature of such phenomena.
