Light propagation in electrodynamics with nonminimal curvature coupling. — •Yuri Obukhov — Inst. Theor. Physics, University of Cologne, 50923 Koeln
The propagation of electrodynamical waves in curved spacetime is discussed in the framework of the Fresnel approach. The general analysis of the extensions of the Maxwell-Lorentz theory with the Lagrangians including the nonminimal curvature coupling terms is presented. As the direct applications we study the birefringence effect of the light propagation in the gravitational fields of compact objects. Observational consequences are derived.
