Interfacial active properties of special biopolymers, i.e. proteins, allow the generation of ceramic foams with microwaves. This differs obviously from conventional production methods of such foams. By means of synchrotron tomography we investigated the mechanism of accruement of the initial pore distribution in these foams as well as the shape of fully foamed ceramic material. Thanks to the knowledge of the accruement mechanism we are able to influence and control pore accruement and growth.
