Point contacts in flat Dirac systems — •Roland Gersch — MPI für Festkörperforschung, Heisenbergstraße 1, D-70569 Stuttgart
Motivated by Chalker and Ho’s successful continuum description of the U(1) network model, we try to mathematically describe point contacts in a flat Dirac system with weak disorder. Assuming that the trajectory part of the angular momentum vanishes, we derive a boundary condition that allows us to adjust both the net probability flux through a point and a certain quantum mechanical phase. An attempt to follow Klesse and Zirnbauer, who where able to prove a conductance formula for point contacts in the U(1) network model, is met with failure. Although the proof remains elusive, we are able to specify and motivate a similar formula.
