For the first time we used THz Time-Domain spectroscopy as a tool for dusty plasma diagnosis in the THz-frequency region. The dust particles were produced in mixtures of Ar and C2H2 and CH4, respectively. We used a capacitively coupled GEC-Cell powered by 20 Watt at 13.56 MHz. A 20 fs TiSa-laser was used as the pulse source producing ultrashort, broadband THz-pulses, that are transmitted through the plasma chamber and detected coherently through a second femtosecondpulse. Rotational lines of different hydrocarbons were observed including positive ions and radicals. For CCH several rotational transitions in the region from 3 to 40 cm−1 were observed, which yield information on the condition of the plasma. The experiments are thought to implement a new technique for plasma diagnostics in future.
