The WEGA is the classical steady state operation stellarator with magnetic field 0.083T. The plasma is heated using ECRH at 2.45GHz with a maximum power 20+6 kW. In order to optimize and improve the ECR heating process a mode conversion of waves in plasma was suggested. Calculations of full-wave equation for conditions of WEGA stellarator show the possibility of resonant conversion of O-wave emitted from low field side with proper k-spectrum to X-wave near the O-cutoff layer. An increasing of amplitude and reducing of wave length in the conversion region is predicted by these calculations. To prove it experimentally the measurements of wave activity in plasma via HF probes simultaneous with the Langmuir probe measurements will be performed. Information about the phase and amplitude of waves in plasma allow us to find the conversion region and to obtain the value of k-vector of waves in plasma.
