New physics searches with rare B-meson decays — •Gudrun Hiller — LMU München
Flavor-changing-neutral-current processes are unique probes of the flavor and CP structure of the underlying theory and are sensitive to new degrees of freedom at and above the electroweak scale. A multitude of rare b-decay modes are being studied experimentally with increasing precision at the currently operating b-factories Belle (KEK), BaBar (SLAC) and at the Tevatron (Fermilab). I discuss the status of New Physics searches with b-decays. It is necessary to study pattern among several observables to reveal the nature of the physics beyond the Standard Model. Model-independent analyses are covered as well as model-specific studies. Particularly interesting decay modes are radiative b → s γ and semileptonic b → s l+ l+ decays.
