Search for a Light Higgs Boson in the Decay Hbb with the ATLAS Detector — •S. Kotov, N. Benekos, S. Horvat, O. Kortner, H. Kroha, S. Mohrdieck-Möck, and Ch. Valderanis — Max-Planck-Insitut für Physik, Föhringer Ring 6, D-80805 München

The electroweak precision data indicate a light standard model Higgs boson with a mass around 120 GeV. In this mass range the Higgs boson predominantly decays into two b quark jets. In order two be able to separate the Higgs signal from the huge QCD background, the Higgs boson has to be searched for in its associated production with two t jets. The Higgs discorvery potential in this process with the ATLAS detector is investigated with fully simulated data samples. The QCD background is rejected by means of a neural network in the present analysis.
