Quality Assurance of the ATLAS Pixel Detector Optical Link — •Simon Kirichu Nderitu, Peter Mättig, Karl-Heinz Becks, and Peter Gerlach — FbC/Physik; Bergische Universität Wuppertal
For data transmission to and from the ATLAS Pixel Detector, custom made optical links will be used. For the on-detector part of this link, the Opto-Board carries seven receivers and up to 14 transmitters. The Pixel detector requires 272 of these boards. Their production will take place at the Ohio State University (USA) and at the University of Siegen (Germany). To ensure the quality of the boards and to overcome the early failures, distinct tests are foreseen to be done on each board. These tests include burn-in, thermal cycling and a detailed characterization. In Wuppertal, a test system has been constructed in respect to this task. A description of the treatments and measurements needed and how they are implemented, parallelised and automated will be given.
