Expected performance of high energy gamma-ray observations using two MAGIC telescopes — •Kenji Shinozaki1, Pratik Majumdar1, and Abelardo Moralejo21Max-Planck-Institut für Physik, Föhringer Ring 6, 80805 München — 2Dipartimento di Fisica, Università di Padova and INFN sez. di Padova, Padova 35131 Italy

At the site on Canary Island La Palma where the 17m MAGIC telescope (MAGIC-I) is operated, a second MAGIC telescope (MAGIC-II) is under construction that is planned to be operational in 2006. MAGIC-II is an upgrade of MAGIC-I telescope. It will be equipped with newly developed sub-systems (like, for example, camera based on GaAsP hybrid photo diodes and 500MHz bandwidth ultra-fast 2GHz-sampling FADC system), which will provide the very low threshold energy. Also it will privide an improved performance at a few tens GeV energies, especially when working in coincidence with MAGIC-I. In this presentation, based on Monte Carlo simulations, we will report the expected performance of high energy gamma-ray observations with two MAGIC telescope system.
