Measurement of the Target Spin Asymmetry in Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering on the Proton at HERMES. — •Mikhail Kopytin — DESY, 15738 Zeuthen
Since several years there is a strong interest in Generalized Parton Distributions (GPD) because they provide a unified description of hard inclusive and exclusive processes. One of the cleanest ways to access GPDs appears to be hard exclusive real photon electroproduction (Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering, DVCS). Attributed to the interference of DVCS and Bethe-Heitler processes the azimuthal asymmetry in respect to the target spin has been measured at HERMES on a proton target at the HERA positron storage ring.
